Hi, I’m Joanne and I’m the new face behind the Pod Candle Co. I took over the company from Zoe in 2020. Although the candles are now made in Langholm, we decided to keep the company name in honour of its beginnings in the pod.  Like many people, I didn’t realise how many harmful chemicals were used in the paraffin wax candles I usually bought.  Soy wax is non toxic making it better for health and the environment.  

I try to match and combine luxurious scents to invoke feelings of comfort, relaxation and general wellbeing. Pod Candles are hand poured in small batches in simple, elegant amber glass jars with aluminium lids. 

Pod Candles are produced using 100% soy wax which is made from the oil of soy beans. Soy wax is eco friendly and biodegradable. No harmful substances are used when producing Pod candles and each candle is produced to create a cleaner, longer lasting burn.

Every candle is handpoured by me using materials which can either be recycled or reused. From recyclable aluminium jar lids, reusable amber glass jars, labels made from recycled paper to the biodegradable glassine bags used to package the wax melts. Our postal packaging is all recyclable and plastic free. No single use plastic is used in the making of Pod Candles. Born in the South West of Scotland, the Pod Candle Co. is an eco friendly small candle business. Our home fragrance brand is handpoured, labelled and packaged all within the candle room in Langholm.
